Minister of Defense, Teodor Melescanu is participating between June 14 and 15, in Brusseles, in the Formal Reunion of Defense Ministers from NATO member states.

The event is the first official meeting of Defense Ministers from NATO member states to evaluate the stage of implementation of the Riga Summit decisions.

Among others, they will focus on the Alliance's actual and future operations and the partnerships problems. Within the Reunion there will occur the NATO-Russia Council.

This Reunion will also be the occasion of talks on the defense issues for the preparation of NATO Summit in Bucharest in 2008.

Minister Teodor Melescanu will meet the personnel of the Permanent Delegation of Romania to NATO.
