Policy of Public Information of the Ministry of Defense

The Minister of Defense, Teodor Melescanu signed the Principles of the Ministry of Defense for the Public Information:

The Ministry of Defense aims to spread correct, complete and opportune the information to the public opinion, to the Armed Forces personnel, to media, to the Governmental and Non-governmental organizations to have the possibility to analyze and understand the national defense domain.

To achieve this goal, the public information will be developed according to the following principles:
1 The appliance of the Romanian Constitution stipulations, on the person's right to information, in spirit and letter of the law.

2 The spread of public information will be performed correctly, completely and non discriminatory, observing the rules in force on the protection of classified information.

3 The establishment of a flux of public information to the Armed Forces personnel, reserve and retreat military, war veterans and their relatives.

4 The except of free access information will be made according to the Law's stipulations. The information will be not classified or stooped to be published in order to make favor or hide the violation of law or to protect the military body to be criticized.

5 The Policy of Public Information of the Ministry of Defense precludes any type of propaganda or political information.
