Minister of Defense, Teodor Melescanu and his Swedish counterpart Mikael Odenberg, signed Friday, June 29, in Stockholm, the Memorandum of Agreement of Military Cooperation.

According to this document, the two parts, the Romanian and the Swedish, will actively promote the military cooperation and will explore at specialist level, different mutual interest areas for the identification of specific sectors of cooperation.

The official talks were also focused on the dynamics of the European Policy of Security and Defense (PESA), the EU defense capability (Tactical Combat Groups) and the EU operations.

They also approached the issues of security on the international agenda, the process of transformation of the Romanian Armed Forces and the Romanian Swedish military cooperation.

During the visit, the Romanian delegation visited the SAAB HQ for a show of planes made this facility and a demonstrative flight.

Minister of Defense and the military delegation are in official visit since yesterday, June 28, in the Kingdom of Sweden invited by the Swedish Minister of Defense.
