Minister of Defense, Teodor Melescanu is visiting Tuesday, July 3, the 2nd Joint Operational Command Maresal Alexandru Averescu in Buzau.

The delegation headed by Minister Teodor Melescanu formed by the deputy chief of General Staff, Lieutenant General Sorin Ioan and specialists will meet the big unit command staff and will be informed on the leading of forces of the Romanian Armed Forces acting in the theaters of operations outside the country.

They will also present the stage of planning and development of activities for the ROUEX 07 affirmation exercise and MILREX 07 demonstrative exercise to be developed this autumn. Minister of Defense will also have talks with the Command personnel to find out the problems they have and to identify together with the local officials the possible solutions for the social problems.

The visit to the 2nd Joint Operational Command is continuing the series of activities Minister Teodor Melescanu is performing since the beginning of his mandate to know and solve the problems related to the quality of life of the military and civilian personnel from the Ministry of Defense and to concentrate the efforts for the operationalization of forces according the engagements assumed by Romania towards NATO and the European Union.
