Commander of the Swiss Armed Forces in visit in Romania


Commander of the Swiss Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Christophe Keckeis is in official visit in Romanian between July 11 and 12, invited by the Chief of the General Staff, Admiral Ph.D. Gheorghe Marin.

The Swiss delegation will have official talks and will visit military, cultural and tourist objectives.

During the official talks, the Chief of the General Staff, Admiral Ph.D. Gheorghe Marin presented to his guest, the elements of the Strategy of Transformation of the Romanian Armed Forces, the expertise Romania gained as NATO member and Romania's role and place as a factor of stability in the Western Balkans.

The two military leaders had an exchange of opinions on the process of reform and modernization of the two armed forces and tried to find out new forms of military cooperation between Romania and Switzerland.


Lieutenant General Christophe Keckeis has more than 5,000 hours of fly on different types of fighting airplanes; he graduated the course of the Air Force Staff Royal College, in Bracknell, Great Britain and is master in political science of Lausanne University.
