State Secretary Corneliu Dobritoiu, Chief of Department for Policy of Defense and Planning and Major General William Catto, Chief of the EUCOM Staff signed Friday, July 20, at the MoD HQ eight Arrangements of Implementation of the Agreement between Romania and the United States of America on the activity of the US forces stationed on the Romanian territory.

The signed documents stipulate, according to the Romanian legislation in force, the framework on planning, organization and development of the training activity and the application of specific issues for the implementation of the Agreement of Access, signed on December 6, 2005 and ratified by Law no. 268/ July 29, 2006.

Major General William Catto, chief of the EUCOM Staff was received by the Minister of Defense, Teodor Melescanu and during the meeting they stressed upon the strengthening of the Romanian-American partnership for it to become a long term relation.

General William Catto met the Chief of the General Staff, Admiral Ph.D. Gheorghe Marin and the two officials expressed their appreciation for the positive results gained in trainings and exercises developed in common by the military of the two countries.
