General Petraeus congratulated the Romanian military in Iraq

General David Petraeus, the commander of the US troops of the Multinational Force in Iraq, met Saturday, July 21, the Romanian military deployed in Dracula Camp, during his visit in Tallil base.

Lieutenant Colonel George Constantin, commander of the 495th Infantry Battalion informed the US official on the Romanian Battalion's capacity, the missions performed in the theater of operations and the problems the Romanians had. Also, he stressed on the cooperation with the Iraqi authorities and local population.

General Petraeus stated he is proud having the Romanian military under his subordination and send them all the congratulations for their professionalism in their missions.

At the end of the visit, the US General signed in the Battalion's Book of Honor and, as a sign of his appreciation, he gave coins with personal rank and function to the Romanian officers present in this action.
