Deeply aggrieved by the passing away of His Beatitude, Patriarch of the Romanian Christian Orthodox Church, we express our sincere regrets for the loss of one of the dearest friends of our forefathers' army.

His Beatitude, our God's undaunted soldier, served Him ever since his youth, and was the shepherd for the Romanian believers by words and by his own example of life, guiding the people towards love and understanding.

During the two decades he guided the destiny of the Romanian Orthodox Church; His Beatitude always showed interest in our armed forces showing them the way of salvation by the faith in God and devotion to the homeland and people and thus in 1995 we returned to the permanent religious assistance in the military area.

In such moments, the bells are announcing his raise to Heaven, and we pray our Lord to bring him in Heaven and we mourn as all the Romanian Orthodox believers do.
