The Romanian Army Staff and the US Army Europe, USAREUR, will develop between August 17 and October 22, a common exercise at Mihail Kogalniceanu Air Base.

The exercise, Proof of Principle, aims to check the potential of common training of the Romanian and American troops within the military facilities set at disposal by Romania and in the same time is a good opportunity to show the Romanian Armed Forces capacity to plan and develop the military actions together with its allies.

More than 250 Romanian military will have missions in common with the US troops, search mission, reaction to ambushes, patrol, traffic check points, and real firings with small caliber armament.

The exercise is developed based on the agreement between Romania and the United States of America on the activities of the US forces stationed on the Romanian territory, signed in 2005 and ratified by the Romanian Parliament in 2006.
