Minister of Defense, Teodor Melescanu and Chief of the General Staff, Admiral Ph.D. Gheorghe Marin will participate Tuesday, August 21, at 11 a.m. in the ceremony occasioned by the return of the 495th Infantry Battalion Stefan Soverth military, who participated in Iraqi Freedom VIII mission.

For six months, the military from Bucharest acted within the Multinational Coalition in more than 1400 missions, thus contributing in the effort of reconstruction of Iraq by ensuring the security on the main routes of transport, guard of important objectives and participation in humanitarian and medical missions.
