Lieutenant General Sorin Ioan, deputy chief of General Staff and General David McKiernan, commander of the US Army Europe had today, August 29, a visit to Mihail Kogalniceanu Air Base, and the place where the Proof of Principle common training exercise is developed. This occasion, the two Generals visited all the Base's available facilities.

General David McKiernan appreciated the evolution of the US - Romanian relations, the Proof of Principle exercise being a very good example. The commander of US Army Europe remarked: the exercise offers the unique opportunity for the US forces to train in Romania.

At his turn, Lieutenant General Sorin Ioan stated that the common exercises do increase the mutual trust between the two forces.
