Representatives of the Romanian Air Force will participate in the commemoration of the World aviation pioneer, Aurel Vlaicu. The ceremony will occur Thursday, September 13, between 10 and 12 a.m. at the monument raised in his memory, in Banesti, Prahova County.

The celebration will represent a homage paid to Aurel Vlaicu and to his fly ended in September 13, 1913 when he tried to fly over the Carpathians by his plane, entirely projected and build in Romania.

The commemoration is organized by Campina Branch of the National Union of Reserve and Retreat Military and the Romanian Association for the Propaganda of Aviation. They will lay wreaths and four IAR 316B helicopters and five IAK 52 planes from Boboc Air Force Training School will fly over the area.
