Regele Ferdinand frigate is participating in ACTIVE ENDEAVOUR operation

Regele Ferdinand frigate will participate between September 17 and October 19, in naval exercises in the Mediterranean Sea and in Active Endeavour operation. The ship, commanded by Captain Commander Marian Savulescu will have for this mission a crew of 203 sailors and 23 officers.

Between September 17 and 28, the frigate will participate in a stage of training together with ships of NATO Permanent Naval Group in Mediterranean Sea SNMG-2, and till October 13 will participate in Nobel Midas exercise in Croatia. During the exercise the Romanian ship will be evaluated by NATO representatives on interoperability with the ships of the Alliance's member states. In June, this year, the ship was nationally evaluated within CERTEX exercise in Bulgaria.

Regele Ferdinand frigate will participate between October 13 and November 19, in Active Endeavour operation, under NATO command in the Mediterranean Sea. This is the ship's second participation in the action of monitorization of naval and air traffic for countering the illegal traffic and the asymmetric actions of ships.

The leave for mission ceremony will occur Friday, September 14, in Constanta military berth at 12 a.m. in the presence of military officials, representatives of local authorities, veterans, military in reserve and retreat, and the crew's relatives.
