The Defense Minister, Teodor Melescanu will be in official visit in Israel between October 28 and 29, invited by the Vice Prime Minister and Defense Minister, Ehud Barak.

The evolution of NATO partnerships (the Mediterranean Dialogue, the Istanbul Initiative of Cooperation, the NATO-Israel Individual Program of Cooperation), the state of security in the Black Sea and the Western Balkans enlarged region and the participation in peace support missions / fight against terrorism ( Iraq, Afghanistan and the Balkans) are the issues to be approached during the official talks.

The two Defense Ministers will also have talks on the process of transformation of the armed forces and the stage of bilateral military cooperation, especially on the cooperation in training and endowment of troops.

During the activities they will also visit the military objectives and the Israeli defense industry objectives.
