The military of the Romanian Air Force that were in Lithuania for three months within the Air Police Service under NATO command ended their mission.

The welcome ceremony for BALTICA 07 Romanian Detachment will occur Thursday, November 8, starting 9.30 a.m. at the 71st Air Base General Emanoil Ionescu in Campia Turzii in the presence of the Defense Minister, Teodor Melescanu and other civilian and military officials.

The 67 Romanians had as main mission the Air Police service under the North Atlantic Alliance command to maintain the integrity of the Lithuanian, Estonian and Latvian air space.

The mission, integrant part of the collective air defense in peace time was successfully performed by the Romanian military and starting October 31 it was received by the Portuguese detachment.
