Defense Minister, Teodor Melescanu and chief of the General Staff, Admiral Ph.D. Gheorghe Marin will participate Friday, November 9, starting 9 a.m. in Braila, in the ceremony of handing the Combat Flag to the 285th Artillery Battalion Vlaicu Voda. The event is occasioned by the 164th celebration since the establishment of the modern Romanian Artillery.

Guests invited to participate in the ceremony are the Secretary of the Supreme Council of Homeland Defense, Major General Ion Oprisor, the chief of the Army Staff, Lieutenant General Ph.D. Teodor Frunzeti, military and civilian personalities, commanders of big units and units, military in reserve and retreat, local authorities.

This occasion, they will unveil the monument of Vlaicu Voda and will present specific demonstrative exercises.
