Defense Minister, Teodor Melescanu, and a military delegation will visit the Republic of Slovakia, between November 12 and 13, invited by his Slovakian counterpart Frantisek Kasicky.

The agenda of the NATO Summit to occur in Bucharest next year, the aspects of the European Policy of Security and Defense (PESA), the state in Kosovo and the issues of security in the Black Sea Enlarged Region are the main topics to be approached by the two officials.

During the talks they will also focus on the participation in the theaters of operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, the process of transformation and modernization of the two countries' armed forces and the bilateral military cooperation.

The Romanian military delegation will meet personalities of the Slovakian Parliament and Government.
The military delegation will lay a wreath in the Romanian graveyard in Zvolen and at the Monument from Insurrection Place in Banska Bistrica in the memory of the Romanian military that died in battles in the Second World War for Slovakia' freedom.
