Minister of Defense, Teodor Melescanu will participate between November 19 and 20 in the Reunion of the Council for General Affairs and External Relations (CAGRE) in Defense Ministers format, from the European Union member states and in the European Conference of Security developed in Brussels.

During the Reunion they will approach the operations in the Western Balkans (Bosnia-Herzegovina) and Africa (Sudan/Darfur, Chad/ Central African Republic, Congo).

The talks during the first working session will be focused on the EU military capability (planning capacity and stage of the Catalogue of Progress in this area) and the European Defense Agency (EDA) topics on the present and future agenda.

During the second working session they will have talks on the EU-NATO cooperation, the EU-Africa relation in the European Policy of Defense and Security (PESA) and the issues of security and development.
During the CAGRE they will develop the European Security Conference (ESC 07) where Minister Melescanu will deliver a speech on The Impact of the Treaty of Reform on the European Union Security.
