The probable cause of the helicopter crush occurred on November 7, with the lost of the three human lives was the rapid lost of lift due to the snapshot not commanded stop of engines upon the wing in cold season conditions with the possibility of frosting.

This is the preliminary conclusion of the investing Commission, according to the rules, in maximum 30 days since the incident.
The IAR 330 PUMA helicopters the MoD is equipped with have been technically checked and now they received the approval for gradual start of flying activity starting November 19, 2007.

The Commission will continue the investigation of causes of the snapshot not commanded stop of engines and will end the technical investigation papers.
