NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer visited Thursday night, November 22 the Romanian military deployed in Lagman camp in Afghanistan.

Lieutenant Colonel Costel Ionescu, commander of Zabul Task Force, during a briefing, presented the state of security in the region, deployment of forces and the cooperation between ISAF forces and the Afghani police and armed forces; the chief of Provincial Reconstruction Team, Lieutenant Colonel James Allen Bramble presented the state of development of the reconstruction projects.

At the end of the meeting, with participation of Delbar Jan Arman, Governor of Zabul Province, Brigade General Abdoul Razaq, commander of the 2nd National Afghani Brigade and Mohhamad Yaqoob, commander of Zabul Province Police, the NATO Secretary General appreciated the professionalism the Romanian military proved during their missions within ISAF.
