The leave in mission ceremony of the military of the 300th Mechanized Infantry Battalion Sfantul Andrei, in Afghanistan, will occur Wednesday, December 12, starting 11 a.m. in Galati, in the unit's barracks.

Representatives of the Mod leaders, local officials, relatives and friends will participate in the ceremony.

The Infantrymen from Galati will take over from the military of the 33rd Mountain Battalion from Curtea de Arges the missions of support of the Afghani armed forces and police, reconnaissance and patrol, and humanitarian assistance and will participate in the projects of development initiated by the Provincial Reconstruction Team in Zabul.

The 300th Mechanized Infantry Battalion Sfantul Andrei is for the second time in mission in the theater of operations in Afghanistan, the first occurred between January and July 2005.
