The Defense Minister, Teodor Melescanu ordered at the suggestion of the Chief of General Staff that all the military and their equipment to participate in the action of remove of snow and support of population in the regions affected by abundant snowfalls at request of the central and local authorities.

In Bucharest, this hour, the military of the 30th Guard Regiment Mihai Viteazu are acting with adequate equipment and tracks to remove the snow on the main ways in the 6th sector.

Today, too, the effectives and the means of intervention of the 96th Engineering Battalion from Bucharest are participating in remove the snow on the ways towards the Ministry of Defense and in other areas in the Capital. They also took all the measures to rehabilitate the traffic towards bays, airports, units and depots of the MoD.

An Army Detachment participated Wednesday, January 2, with their equipment (DAC 665 T tracks, vehicles on tracks) in the rehabilitation of circulation on Caracal-Redea way and to transport the persons in need towards hospitals in Caracal and Slatina and to ensure their emergency medical assistance.

The intervention sub-units, at request of the legal authorities, are ready in their garrisons to act for the support of population affected by massive snowbound.
