Minister of Defense, Teodor Melescanu, will have an official visit between January 20 and 22, in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, invited by the Chief of the Jordanian Armed Forces, General Khalid Jamil Al-Sarayreh.

The main issues to be approached during the talks will be focused on the increase of the Jordan-NATO partnership within the Mediterranean Dialogue, the Jordanian perspective related to the state of security in the Middle East (the Israeli-Palestinian treaty of peace, the evolution of the process of election in Lebanon, the Iranian nuclear file).

They will also approach the issues on the Romanian-Jordanian military cooperation and the Romanian expertise in participation in operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The program of the visit will include the meeting with the Prime Minister and Defense Minister, Nader Dahabl, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Salaheddin Al-Bashir and other Jordanian military and civilian personalities.
