Minister Teodor Melescanu in official visit in Jordan

The increase of cooperation in defense industry, the contribution of Romania and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on the Mediterranean Dialogue, the cooperation on military medicine and training were the main topics that have been approached during the talks between the Minister of Defense, Teodor Melescanu and the Prime Minister and Chief of the Jordanian Defense, Nader Dahabi.

The Jordanian official expressed the interest on the place and the role Romania plays in NATO and the European Union through the expertise our country gained.

Minister Teodor Melescanu stressed on the possibility to increase the cooperation in defense industry, not only in research but in production, too, taking into account the Romanian industry's expertise and capability.

During the official visit in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Minister Melescanu handed to his Jordanian counterpart, the letter of the Romanian Prime Minister, Calin Popescu Tariceanu, a letter of congratulations for his appointment and of official invitation to visit Romania.

The Jordanian Prime Minister answered with pleasure to the invitation and, this year, will have an official visit in our country.

During the visit in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, starting Sunday, January 20, Minister Melescanu met the Chief of the Jordanian Armed Forces, General Khalid Al-Sarayrech, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Salaheddin Al-Bashir and other Jordanian military and civilian personalities.
