Invited by the Romanian Defense Minister, Teodor Melescanu, the Minister of National Defense and Veterans of the Republic of Burundi, Major General Germain Niyoyankana, will have an official visit in our country between January 23 and 26.

During the talks held today, January 24, at the MoD HQ, they approached the common interest issues on the EU engagement in supporting the process of stabilization in Africa (Sudan, Congo, and Chad).

The two officials had also talks on the state of security in the Great Lakes Region and the possible areas and ways of bilateral military cooperation.
The program of the guest also comprises the visits to the Parliament Palace, the National Defense University Carol I, the Bucharest Military Equipment Permanent Show and the talks with the representatives of the Armaments Department and the Human Resources Management Directorate for the presentation of the offer on educational courses.
