The Minister of Defense, Teodor Melescanu, met Tuesday, January 29, John P. Rose, director of the European Centre of Studies of Security George C. Marshall, Garmisch Partenkirchen.

The talks held with the director of Marshall College have been focused on the continuation of the Romanian students' participation to the educational programs of the Centre, our country being represented every year by a significant number of students.

According to the Defense Minister, the level of participation is showing the personnel's desire of training to the highest international standards.

Minister Melescanu expressed the appreciation to Marshall Centre's initiative to organize the Transatlantic Forum during the NATO Summit.

Minister Teodor Melescanu met Tuesday, too, the chief of the National Colleges of Defense from Israel, Major General Gershon Haconen.

During the talks with the Israeli guest, they focused on the benefic experience of cooperation between the National College of Defense from our country and the Colleges of Defense from Israel and they approached the issues on the importance of continuous improvement of training of the personnel from the system of defense, the participation in international missions and the strengthen of the bilateral relations between the two countries.
