Chief of General Staff in the self-evaluation meeting in Constanta garrison


Chief of General Staff, Admiral Ph.D. Gheorghe Marin participated Monday, February 4, in Constanta, in the meeting of the Flotilla self-evaluation on 2007.

The Flotilla commander, Rear-Admiral Mircea Rusmanica, presented and analyzed the self-evaluation indicators stressing on the results gained by the subordinated units during the process of training and the participation to the national and international operations and exercises.

Thus, Regale Ferdinand frigate covered on 2007 the stages of national certification and NATO level I affirmation, further, participating in NATO led Active Endeavour operation, in the Mediterranean Sea.

In 2007, the Flotilla' ships and personnel have participated to eight national exercises and eight international exercises and to the common training with the foreign ships that visited our bays.

In 2007, too the Flotilla was endowed with the first naval helicopter considerably thus increasing the ships' possibilities to act. The Flotilla's commander also stressed on the good cooperation with the Navy logistic structures for the reach of the state of operation of ships and combat equipment.

The Chief of the General Staff appreciated the positive results and showed that, in future, as many military as possible will have to make efforts to learn English and will have to reorientate the training by the effective use of simulators. Admiral Marin stressed, too, on the role of control in the act of command and ordered to the commanders to be severe in everything they are doing.

The Chief of the General Staff presented the Romanian Armed Forces main goals, according to the Strategy of Transformation, detailed the directions of action to reach the end of re-structure at the central command level, and stressed on the necessity to inform the personnel on these aspects and the role of the internal information in the domain.

Flotilla Rear-Admiral Dorin Danila, chief of the Navy, Brigade General Ph.D. Ion Palsoiu, chief of Forces Operationalization, Generation and Evaluation Directorate of the General Staff, Admirals and officers from the General Staff and the Navy were the participants in the activity.
