The Defense Minister Teodor Melescanu and the Chief of the General Staff, Admiral Ph.D. Gheorghe Marin will participate to the Informal Reunion of the Defense Ministers of NATO member states to be held between February 7 and 8 in Vilnius, Lithuania.

The Defense Ministers will approach the issues aiming NATO operations (stage of development and support of ISAF in Afghanistan and KFOR in Kosovo), the process of transformation of the Alliance's capabilities and the supply of forces.

The agenda of talks comprises among other, the issues on NATO Response Force, the military support for stabilization and reconstruction and the aspects to be debated during the NATO Summit, in April, in Bucharest.

Meetings between the Defense Ministers of the North Atlantic Alliance member states and the Defense Ministers/chiefs of delegations of non-NATO member states contributors to ISAF and KFOR operations will occur during the working sessions.

In the same time they planned to occur a meeting between the Defense Ministers of the states with contribution to the Regional Command, South in Afghanistan.

During this event they will have the Reunion of NATO-Russia Council in working launch format, and the Reunion of NATO-Ukraine Commission.
