The Defense Minister, Teodor Melescanu introduced Georgeta Elisabeta Ionescu during the ceremony occurred Wednesday, February 13 at the MoD HQ.

Georgeta Elisabeta Ionescu was appointed on February 11, 2008, through the Prime Minister's decision, in rank of State Secretary and chief of Department of Parliament Liaison and Public Information.
The ceremony was attended by the State Secretary and chief of Department of Policy of Defence and Planning, Corneliu Dobritoiu, the Chief of General Staff, Admiral Ph.D. Gheorghe Marin, the MoD General Secretary, Georgeta Gavrila and Generals of the central structures.

This occasion, the Defense Minister Teodor Melescanu welcomed the new State Secretary and stated this appointment is on behalf of the entire institution, especially for the relation between the Ministry and the Parliament.

Georgeta Elisabeta Ionescu was the General Secretary of the Chamber of Deputies since 2006 and in the same year she graduated the Security and Good Neighborliness Course of the National Defense College.
