USS San Jacinto in Constanta

Fleet Command Commander, Flotilla Rear Admiral Mircea Rusmanica, is meeting Comandor Matthew Sharpe, Captain of USS San Jacinto cruiser on 21 Februarie, in Constanta. The ship will be in the Black Sea port from February 21 to 24.
The US ships Captain will visit the Navy Warrant Officers School and other units under the Navy Staff.
Bilateral cooperation (which includes the US cruiser's visit to Constanta) and the capabilities of non-commissioned officers' schools will be topics addressed during the official talks. The Romanian and American partners will also discuss ways to increase the interoperability between Romanian and US ships and aircraft.

The San Jacinto cruiser is an ARLEIGH BURKE class ship. Its length is of 173 m, width of 16.8 m, draught of 10.2 m, and displacement of 9,600 t. The crew comprises 402 seamen, of which 35 are officers. Propulsion is done by four General Electric LM 2500 turbines, that can reach a speed of more than 30 knots. The ship is equipped with artillery installations, Mk 46 torpedos, and Tomahawk and ASROC missiles.
