The Defence Minister, Teodor Melescanu, will participate in the military ceremony held on the Romanian soldiers' return from the reconstruction and stabilization mission in Iraq, at 11 am, on March 13.
During their six-month deployment, from August 2007 to February 2008, the soldiers from Timisoara completed more than 2,000 missions patrolling, guarding strategic economic units, reconstruction projects for the Iraqi population.
The ceremony at the headquarters of the 32nd Infantry Battalion Mircea in Timisoara will be attended by representatives of the Ministry of Defence, local authorities and military personnel's families.
