Romanian Senators in Iraq

The Romanian troops deployed in the Draculabase in Tallil were visited by representatives of the Defence, Public Order and National Security Committee of the Romanian Senate, on March 16. The delegation included senators Ilie Stoica, vice-chairman, Jan Vraciu, Committee Chairman, counselor Stefan Aldea and Danut Stoica. They were accompanied by Lieutenant General Florian Pinta, Comander of the 2nd Joint Operational Command, and by Air Flotilla General Aurel Stanciu, Chief of the Operations Directorate in the General Staff.
The delegation was met in Tallil by the Romanian Senior Officer in Iraq, Brigadier Generalul Gabriel Gabor and by the Romanian Consul in Baghdad, Cristian Voicu.
The 151st Infantry Battalion Black Wolves Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Dan Cislariu, briefed the visiting officials on the organization, capabilities of the battalion as well as on the use of resources, the security situation in the area, and the missions conducted by the Romanian troops in provinces Dhi Qar and Al Muthanna. The delegation also visited the soldiers' baracks.
Representatives of the Multinational Coalition present there stressed the importance of the Romanian contingent's missions and the good cooperation within common activities.
