The German Federal Defence Minister, dr. Franz Josef Jung is visiting Romania on April 1 and 2, at the invitation of the Romanian Defence Minister, Teodor Melescanu.

The official talks include topics of common interest regarding the European Security and Defence Policy and the security environment in the Western Balkans and in the greater Black Sea region. Aspects related to the bilateral military cooperation and Romanian armed forces' participation in peace support and anti-terrorist operations, as a credible partner and a security provider.

The German delegation will have meetings with members of the Committee for Defence, Public Order and National Security in the Romanian Senate and with the president's advisor, General Constantin Degeratu, at the Cotroceni Pallace.
