A Memorial Ceremony was held this morning in the opening of the NATO Summit session, on April 3. The ceremony was organised to commemorate the soldiers who lost their lives in NATO-led operations.
Lieutenant Nicolae Grigore who contributed to ISAF III operation in Afghanistan, as an Infantry platoon commander, in the 33rd Mountain Troop Battalion Posada, from July 15, 2007 to January 15, 2008 represented Romanian troops at this ceremony.
Lieutenant Grigore was awarded the National Order Serviciul Credincios (Faithful Service), Knight rank with war symbols by the Romanian President, with the Honour Medal of the Romanian Armed Forces by the Defence Minister, and with the NATO Non-article 5 medal by NATO commanders, for his spirit of sacrifice.
