A military ceremony was held on April 5, at the Memorial Wall in the Tallil base, Iraq, to commemorate the soldiers of the Multinational Coalition who were killed in action during their mission in Iraq.

During the Tatoo Ceremony, memorial plaques were inaugurated. The names of the two Romanian soldiers second lieutenants post-mortem Bogdan Valerian Hancu and Ioan Grosaru are also engraved there.

The commemorated soldiers' special merits and missions were presented on that ocasion.

• Bogdan Valerian Hancu died on April 26, 2006, when the joint Italian-Romanian patrol he was part of was attacked south of An Nassyria. Hancu belonged to the Military Police Company participating in Antica Babilonia operation.
• Ioan Grosaru died on September 21, 2007, when the armored personnel carrier he was in was damaged following the explosion of an improvised explosive device, while on a patrol mission.
