The Romanian Armed Forces celebrate the military and civilian personnel in the area of the Military Justice, on April 25, on the 89th anniversary of the establishment of the Juridical Service of the War Ministry, a moment which marked the birth of the specialized structure in providing juridical assistance to the armed forces.

Military Justice was established due to the need to settle numerous requests regarding administrative issues, the legislative framework for the military system, the relevant regulations, and the interests of the armed forces.

The role and importance of the legal advisor were seen during the development and the modernization of the military.

Romania's NATO and EU membership involves the creation and strengthening of a juridical framework compatible with the communitary one, which may allow for the proper functioning of the military system within integrated structures, so that the military may fulfill all commitments.
