Humanitarian Aid for Iraqi Children

The Iasi subsidiary of the Military Personnel's Wives Association, together with the School Inspectorate of the Iasi County organized several humanitarian aid raising for Iraqi children. The aids were carried by a Romanian Air Force aircraft to the Romanian soldiers of the 151st Infantry Battalion 'Black Wolves' deployed in Iraq, on April 21st.

The 'Youth for Youth' campaign was supported by students of the 'Vasile Lupu' School, the 'Vasile Alecsandri' and 'Miron Costin' highschools in Iasi, and of the 'D.D. Patrascanu' secondary school in Tomesti, Iasi county.

According to the chairman of the Iasi subsidiary, Maria Roman, the 'students gave away clothes and toys hoping that these could be of good use for the Iraqi children living in the area of responsibility of the Romanian soldiers'.

The gifts will be distributed to the Iraqi children during the Orthodox Easter holidays by the soldiers of the 151st Infantry Battalion.
