Blue sky for Promotion 2008 of the Air Force School of Applications from Bobocu

The Minister of Defense, Teodor Melescanu participated today, July 8, at the Air Force School of Applications from Bobocu (Buzau) in the 50th anniversary since the nomination Aurel Vlaicu granted to this platform of education.
Lieutenant General Mihai Orzeata, deputy chief of General Staff, Lieutenant General Constantin Croitoru, chief of the Air Force Staff, the School staff, former commanders and trainers, representatives of the local authorities and Romanian Aero club have been invited to participate in this event.
Minister Melescanu evoked the fact that the School of Romanian wings from Bobocu trained along the 50 years, many generations of aviators (…), thus, there is no Romanian pilot who one way or another had not been trained in the schools from Buzau. On the eve of the Day of the Romanian Aviation and the Air Force ( to be celebrated on the 20th of July), Teodor Melescanu evoked the important performances that have been gained along the time and underlined the fact that it reached the level of interoperability with the partners from the North Atlantic Alliance, too. We need very well trained pilots and in the same time we run the Air Force strategic programs of modernization and endowment. The multi-role planes and the short/medium transport planes, to enter soon in service, will fully challenge the trainers from Bobocu to form the professional pilots also stated the Minister of Defense.
During the event, Minister Teodor Melescanu granted the brevets of graduation to the pilots from Promotion 2008. Lieutenant General Mihai Orzeata offered the Emblem of Honor of the General Staff that was granted to the School of Applications by the Chief of the General Staff, Admiral Gheorghe Marin.

The event from Bobocu also comprised an air show with the participation of the MiG-21 LanceR, IAR-99 SOIM, IAR-99 STANDARD, IAR- 316B and AN-2 planes and the planes of the Romanian Air club. There were the parachute launches, too.
