Other Detachments from the 15th Mechanized Brigade Iasi and the 4th Logistics Brigade Dej, are acting Sunday, July 27, according to the orders issued by the MoD leaders, at the central and local authorities' request to reduce the effects of floods. Thus, in Radauti, Suceava County, the MoD DAC lorries are transporting the water for the population and providing the military tents for the evacuated persons and in Blagesti, Rachiteni, Pascani, Iasi County, and the military are continuing to help people in need, to evacuate the goods and to consolidate the ditches. Also, the Romanian Air Force helicopters continue their mission in Maramures, to evacuate the persons and to transport the food for the affected population from the calamity. The MoD State Secretary Corneliu Dobritoiu and Admiral Gheorghe Marin, chief of the General Staff are accompanying PM Calin Popescu Tariceanu in the working visit in the flood affected regions to evaluate the situation and to establish what is to be done.
The Emergency Operative Committee established that the Ministry of Defense has to continue to participate in the support of population in the floods affected areas, especially in Pascani and Roman regions and in consolidation of ditches on Siret River.
