The Ministry of Defence leadership has initiated a fund raising among military personnel in support of the victims in the areas seriously affected by the floods, in Moldavia and Maramures.

Voluntary financial contributions will be collected and placed in a special account opened by the Financial-Accounting Directorate.

The first soldiers to react to this initiative were the Romanian troops deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan.
