The sub-unit of the 307th Marine Navy Corps Battalion will have the ceremony of leaving in mission in Kosovo theatre of operations on August 25, starting 11 a.m. in Babadag.
The 86 soldiers led by Major Remus Melinte will be part of the Forces National Detachment RoFND XVII within the Multinational Combat Group, West of the NATO led mission in Kosovo, KFOR. For six months they will fulfill the specific missions of escort, traffic control and patrol together with the Italian, Slovenian and Hungarian soldiers.
Relatives, representatives of the MoD leadership, representatives of the Romanian Orthodox Church and the representatives of the local administration will participate in this ceremony.
The first Romanian Navy Detachment, ROFND XVI, from the 307th Marine Navy Corps Battalion was deployed in Kosovo theatre of operations on February 25 and will return home at the end of the month.
