Romanian-Bosnian military cooperation

The Defence Minister, Teodor Melescanu, received today, September 22, at the MoD HQ his counterpart from Bosnia-Herzegovina, Selmo Cikotic.
The state of security in the Western Balkans, the Bucharest NATO Summit and the identification of the new ways of bilateral military cooperation were the issues the two Ministers focused on during their talks.
We are concerned in supporting the positive evolutions in the Western Balkans and we do salute the Alliance's decisions that have been expressed during the Bucharest Summit, to start the Intensified Dialogue with Bosnia-Herzegovina and Montenegro stated Minister Melescanu.
The Bosnian Defence Minister, Selmo Cikotic, stressed on the importance Romania had as the host state for the NATO Summit for the resolutions for the entire region.
Teodor Melescanu addressed to the Bosnian part the invitation to participate with specialists and students in NATO Course of Excellence in HUMINT and CI (NATO CoE HUMINT &CI) in Oradea, having in view the fact that the recent events from Georgia showed the importance of the military intelligence capacity. At his turn, the Bosnian official saluted the Romanian contribution in the peacekeeping effort in Bosnia-Herzegovina and suggested an exchange of experience within the Training Centre for such type of operations.
