The militaries from the 341st Infantry Battalion Rechinii Albi, deployed in Iraq, Sunday December 21, offered toys, sweets, writing materials and bags to the 200 pupils from Ibn Rashed School from Al Shekara, Dhi Qar province.
The Romanian militaries performed this humanitarian mission in cooperation with the militaries from the 4th US Cavalry Brigade.
The school master thanked to the Romanian commander LT. Col. Vasile Vreme for the gifts offered by the Romanians.
The representative of the General Director of Education Department from Dhi Qar province, Hasim Ali, expressed his special appreciation for the thinks the Romanian militaries done for this school and he expects to continue the special relation of friendship between the Romanian militaries and the Iraqi population in other areas, too.
Starting December 21, the 341st Infantry Battalion is in the fifth month of mission. In the four month mission they performed more than 700 missions in their area of responsibility.
