"The Red Scorpions" ceremony of leaving for Iraq

State Secretary Dan Tataru, chief of Department for Parliament Liaison and Public Information and Admiral Gheorghe Marin, chief of General Staff, participated Tuesday, February 17, to the 26th Infantry Battalion Neagoe Basarab's ceremony of leaving in mission for the theater of operations from Iraq.

State Secretary Tataru congratulated the Red Scorpions for their entire activity and expressed his trust in them to completely fulfill their new types of missions in Iraq. He also asked the militaries, in the MoND leaders name, to seriously approach each of the missions, to act according to their mandate and to prove the maximum possible discipline and correctness in their relations of cooperation and coordination with the Iraqi and the US forces.

Brigade General Dan Ghica Radu, commander of the Joint Operational Command, read an excerpt of the order of mission of the IRAQI SUNSET military operation, and in this ceremony, alongside the militaries' relatives and friends, the participants were the representatives of the Romanian Orthodox Church and the representatives of the local public administration.
