Preceding its 60th Anniversary, NATO launched in Washington, D.C., a public information campaign that aims at spotlighting the Allied contribution to the stability and security of Afghanistan.
The activity, that goes before the 60th Anniversary Summit jointly hosted by France and Germany in Strasbourg and Kehl on April 2 and 3, will consists in displaying advertisements in the Washington, D.C., Metro system from Monday, March 23, through April 19. The displays illustrate the Allies efforts towards creation an Afghan Armed Forces, able to ensure a secure environment in Afghanistan, and also democratic institutions apt to a perform a stable governance and to meet the local population requirements.
On of these 11 photographs picked out for the campaign pictures the Romanian contribution to the NATO mission in Afghanistan and shows a dialog between the Romanian soldiers and representatives of local community of Zabul Province, in 2007.
