"Contraamiral Eustatiu Sebastian" corvette participates in the activation of the BLACKSEAFOR Naval Cooperation Task Group

"Contraamiral Eustatiu Sebastain" corvette will leave the military bay Mangalia, Thursday, April 2, at 10 a.m. to participate to the second stage of the eight activation of BLACKSEAFOR Naval Cooperation Task Group.
The Romanian ship will perform the naval exercises, between April 2 and 22, in the Black Sea, together with the commanding ship Slavutich (Ukraine), Smeli corvette (Bulgaria), Azov landing ship (Russian Federation) and TCG Fatih frigate (Turkey).
The activities of the BLACKSEAFOR Naval Group will comprise the anti-mine exercises, search and rescue missions, humanitarian assistance and environment protection exercises.
The program of the BLACKSEAFOR Naval Group also comprises the visits in Eregli bay (Turkey), Burgas port (Bulgaria) and Constanta port (Romania) to strengthen the trust and the good understanding between the participating states and to increase the cooperation and interoperability between the Navies from the Black Sea region.
"Contraamiral Eustatiu Sebastian" corvette is commanded by Lieutenant Commander Cornel Tanasescu and for this mission the crew consists of 95 militaries.

The BLACKSEAFOR Group is the force acting "at request" and it is activated twice per year for the naval exercises. The Group command is ensured according to the founding protocol, by rotation, by the six states from the Black Sea region participating with forces, thus: Bulgaria, Georgia, Romania, Russian Federation, Ukraine and Turkey.
