The Minister of National Defense, at the suggestion made by the chief of General Staff, signed the order of appointment in rank of Major (post mortem) of Captain Unguras Iuliu Vasile.
The Minister sent to the President of Romania the suggestion to decorate Major Unguras who was killed in action in Afghanistan.

Captain Unguras Iuliu Vasile was leading a patrol mission of A1 Kandahar-Kabul highway. At about 20 km North-east of Qalat, one vehicle passed over an improvised explosive device. In the explosion the officer was killed and other four militaries were wounded.
