The Operation Military Liaison Team 1 from the theater of operations from Afghanistan will return home by a military airplane of the Romanian Air Force on Friday, April 17, at about 7 p.m. on the military airport of the 71st Air Base Campia Turzii.
The team, comprising 14 officers and NCOs that have been selected from the 81st Mechanized Brigade subordinated structures from Bistrita, is headed by Lieutenant Colonel Dragos Iacob, commander of the 814th Tank Battalion from Turda. For six months the team trained and counseled the Afghan militaries from Zabul province in staff and administration issues.
The hand-over ceremony between the OMLT from the 81st Mechanized Brigade Bistrita and the 8th Joint Artillery Brigade Focsani occurred Saturday, April 11, in Camp Apache base from Qalat, Afghanistan.
