The defence ministers participating in the South East European Cooperation Process SEECP Meeting adopted a common statement on Thursday, April 15, 2004.

Laying the grounds of SEECP defence cooperation, the document expresses the nine countries' common commitment for a mutual support in order to build regional security and stability, to approach the new risks and threats at security on a coordinated basis, to bring the whole area closer to the Euro-Atlantic security environment.

Mr. Sorin Encutescu, State Secretary and Head of Department of Parliamentary Relations, Legislative Harmonisation and Public Relations, representing the Romanian Defence Minister in this Meeting, congratulated Mr. Mikola Radovanovic, the first appointed Defence Minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina, for the progresses made by this country in the field of military reform.

During their bilateral meeting, Mr Encutescu and Mr. Kasim Maras, Deputy Defence Minister of Serbia and Montenego, pointed out the good cooperation relationships established between the two countries in the military field.. The Serbian diplomat thanked for the support given by the Romanian side in the accession of his country in the PfP Programme.
