The Day of the War Veterans is celebrated on April 29, as sign of gratitude for the special merits of those who fought for defending Romania's independency, sovereignty and territorial integrity.
On this occasion, in Bucharest and in other garrisons the military ceremonies to honor the war veterans are to be organized.
In Bucharest, Tuesday, April 28 they will lay the wreaths at the Monument of the Unknown Soldier in Parcul Carol (11 a.m.) and at the Monument of the Homeland Heroes in front of the Defence National University "Carol I" (12.30 a.m.).
The War Veterans Solemn Meeting will occur in the Marble Hall of the National Military Club Palace on Wednesday, at 11 a.m.
The war veterans, the MoND representatives, the officials of the local public administration, and militaries will participate in this activity.

The "War Veteran" title was for the first time recognized on April 29, 1902 through the High Royal Decree. "The Day of the War Veterans" was established on April 29, through the Government Decision 1222 from October 10, 2007.
